BUILDING SCIENCE · DESIGN · DECARBONIZATION
Better buildings.
Clearer decisions.
Connect energy, carbon and cost—without losing sight of design and the people inside.
Performance-led analysis and design support for new buildings and retrofits. From an early question to a documented comparison, we help your team understand the options and plan the next step.

HOW WE CAN HELP
One building. Connected expertise.
A focused study or an integrated performance brief—defined around your project, evidence and decision.
01 / DESIGN
Building design
& project support
Concept comparisons, BIM, visualization and coordination alongside your responsible project professionals.
02 / ENERGY
Energy modelling
& reports
Traceable assumptions, controlled comparisons and clear reporting to inform performance decisions.
03 / TRANSITION
Decarbonization
& electrification
Compare envelope, heating and hot-water strategies, their constraints and potential trade-offs.
04 / LIFE CYCLE
Carbon, LCA
& life-cycle cost
Connect environmental impact, capital investment, operation and replacement assumptions.
05 / ENCLOSURES
Façades, daylight
& comfort
Investigate glazing, BIPV, shading, glare and view quality without losing the design intent.
06 / MULTI-RESIDENTIAL
CMHC MLI Select
project support
Discuss energy-strategy analysis and coordination of the technical information your team needs.
Different roles. A shared building decision.
Architects & design teams · Developers & builders · Building owners & housing providers · Realtors & property advisers · Multi-unit financing and insurance teams
An initial conversation establishes the technical scope, evidence needed and specialist responsibilities.

FOUNDER-LED. RESEARCH-INFORMED.
Building science,
with a designer’s eye.
Sorour Yekke, PhD
Founder & Building Scientist
My work brings architectural engineering, building-performance research and technology commercialization together. My Waterloo doctoral research explored BIPV window-view quality using immersive virtual reality—connecting the performance of a façade with the experience of looking through it.
At LUMIArchLab, that perspective becomes a practical question: how can we make better building decisions while keeping energy, carbon, cost and people in the same conversation?
IN THE LAB · EXPERIMENTAL PROTOTYPE
Building Decision Studio
A developing workflow for energy, operational-carbon and life-cycle-cost comparisons. Our current local prototype uses supplied inputs and demonstration data. It is not a launched engineering, compliance or client-file service.
A clear process from the start.
01 / Define
Your building, decision, scope and priorities.
02 / Analyse
The evidence, assumptions and performance.
03 / Compare
Options, constraints and meaningful trade-offs.
04 / Decide
A documented direction and next steps.
